FAIRMONT, W.Va. /Publishers Newswire/ — Backbone Security, the global leader in advanced digital steganalysis tools, in conjunction with ADF Solutions, the global leader of forensic triage tools, is pleased to announce the availability of an updated Steganography SearchPak for use with ADF’s revolutionary digital forensic triage tools currently deployed at law enforcement agencies, government organizations, and commercial corporations worldwide.

The Steganography SearchPak was created from hash values extracted from the latest version of the Steganography Application Fingerprint Database (SAFDB) created and maintained in Backbone’s Steganography Analysis and Research Center (SARC). SAFDB is the world’s largest commercially available hash set exclusive to steganography applications. Digital forensic examiners around the world are using hash values from SAFDB to detect the presence of steganography applications on seized media.

First responders and digital forensics lab examiners can use the Steganography SearchPak with Triage-ID(TM) and Triage-Lab(TM) to quickly detect any files associated with 768 steganography applications. The tools are designed to be used by both technical and non technical users and are widely deployed for both field and lab investigations.

Triage-ID(TM) is a field tool for first responders to perform automated on-site analysis of suspect computers, with a bootable CD-ROM and USB drive. Triage-Lab(TM) is a Windows based tool that performs automated analysis of drive images, network drives, stand alone suspect computers, DVD’s, CD’s, and other digital media.

Detecting the presence of steganography applications is a strong indication the application may have been used to conceal digital evidence. When files associated with steganography applications are detected, users have the option of contacting Backbone for further assistance with finding and extracting the hidden evidence using advanced steganalysis tools developed in the SARC.

Contact ADF Solutions at info@adfsolutions.com or the SARC at sarc@backbonesecurity.com for information about obtaining the Steganography SearchPak.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. /Publishers Newswire/ — Del Mar DataTrac, Inc. (DMD), the leading provider of affordable mortgage lending automation solutions, and an industry pioneer in business intelligence, document imaging and management, and loan process workflow tools, has added three lenders for DataTrac Commission. Formerly referred to as CommissionTrac, DMD’s commission management tool helps lenders maintain commission accuracy, and accountability for RESPA-related fee compliance.

Added to the DMD DataTrac Commissions customer roster are The Legacy Group, a Washington-based lender also operating in Arizona and California; Essex Mortgage, a California-based lender with offices in Utah and soon expanding in the Pacific Northwest; and CMG Mortgage, a California-based lender that offers both broker and mortgage banker services.

“Commission calculations are frequently a source of frustration both for lender management and for loan officers,” said DMD president Rob Katz. “DataTrac Commissions provides total commission transparency, allowing loan originators access to their commission pipeline 24 hours a day, every day of the week through its Web-based system.”

“DataTrac Commissions allows lenders to demonstrate their commitment to calculating originators’ commissions accurately and quickly,” he added, “which contributes to a competitive edge in attracting stellar loan originator talent.”

DataTrac Commissions also allows lenders to set up fee floors in compliance with RESPA, enabling them to catch pricing mistakes before it is too late to make corrections. DataTrac Commissions enables lenders to test “what if” scenarios for compensation plans, allowing them to understand exactly how commissions would be paid if plan changes are adopted – an analysis typically viewed as so complicated that it is rarely done.

City Bank Mortgage, the mortgage banking business unit of $1.8 billion City Bank Texas, implemented DataTrac Commissions in 2009 after discovering multiple instances of misallocated fees and commission over-payments. In 2009 City Bank Mortgage had an almost 50 percent increase over its total 2008 volume of $285 million. As originator productivity and loan volume reached record levels in 2009, maintaining accuracy around commissions and RESPA-related fees became a losing battle.

“During our implementation process we tested the system by running our plans against historic numbers and found all sorts of places where we overpaid commissions,” said City Bank Mortgage secondary marketing manager Tom Couture. “Within the first few days we identified commission payout errors totaling $10,000.”

About Del Mar DataTrac:

Founded in 1991, Del Mar DataTrac (DMD) is the leading provider of affordable loan automation solutions for mortgage lenders, banks, and credit unions. DMD offers a scalable workflow platform that enables lending best practices by leveraging DataTrac as the back-office hub along with a sophisticated point-of-sale system, a Web-based originator portal and commission engine, and a management dashboard – all in a paperless environment.

The DataTrac Suite is designed by mortgage lenders for mortgage lenders who strive to deliver extraordinary customer service, increase production and profitability, reduce risk, and streamline overall efficiency.

MONTREAL, Canada /Publishers Newswire/ — Embvue Inc. (www.embvue.com), a leading developer and provider of embedded software and systems engineering services & certifiable network products for both mission & safety-critical systems, has today officially launched its latest product – Prodigy. Prodigy is a scalable and configurable network integration tool suite that allows users to greatly simplify the deployment of AFDX, or other deterministic Ethernet, networks.

Following on from the successful introduction of A-Stack (Embvue’s DO-178B certifiable End System stack solution), Prodigy is the second of three AFDX products to be launched by Embvue. It has been designed from scratch to address the need for a simple, comprehensive, intuitive and efficient way to configure, integrate, optimize and deploy real AFDX networks for current and future aerospace applications.

“Embvue’s customers have been searching for a tool solution to enable them to more readily and cost-effectively take AFDX (or other deterministic Ethernet) system components and integrate them together into a deployable network that performs efficiently and in accordance with the AFDX specification,” said Phil Cole, VP Sales and Marketing at Embvue.

“Prodigy has been developed specifically to address these needs. It makes use of an intuitive, PC-based, Graphical User Interface (GUI) through which customers have the ability to configure the tool suite for their own needs and efficiently interact with both simulated and deployed networks.”

Prodigy is scalable. The core capabilities, all of which are accessed via an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), include the ability to:
i)	Model individual network components from multiple suppliers and save them to a database for future use.
ii)	Model an entire network by combining pre-saved component models or creating new ones.
iii)	Run a network simulation to examine network behavior under traffic load conditions and spot conflicts/jitter.
iv)	Readily resolve conflicts/jitter through the simulation GUI interface without the need to manually edit configuration parameters.
v)	Configure and edit individual network components (switches and End Systems) in the simulation model to examine the impact of configuration options on network performance.
vi)	Validate all configurations against user-defined system requirements prior to committing to deployment.
vii)	Automatically download configuration parameters to deployed network components.
viii)	Run both static and real-time performance measurements on the deployed network and compare the results with the performance predicted in the simulated network model in order to assist in the performance optimization of the deployed network.
ix)	Produce a variety of customizable reports.

This core functionality can be extended with a number of additional plug-ins or by the inclusion of customer-specified enhancements.

The beta version of Prodigy is available for demonstration commencing immediately.

About Embvue Inc:

HENGELO, The Netherlands /Publishers Newswire/ — Computer users assume that the popular anti-virus programs will protect them against malware (viruses, spyware, trojans, etc.). But research by SurfRight shows this is not correct. Over 100,000 computers were scanned using their award-winning product, Hitman Pro 3, and almost 32 percent of the users that have an up-to-date anti-virus program installed were still infected with malware.

“Our research shows that traditional anti-virus programs cannot keep up with the cyber criminals,” according to CEO Mark Loman. “Despite all their efforts, suppliers of anti-virus programs release a solution days, sometimes weeks, after a new malware instance is released.”

Mark Loman continues: “Our research also shows that not all anti-virus programs detect the same threats. A combination of different anti-virus programs would reduce the number of infections dramatically.”

* 107,435 computer users have used the free version of Hitman Pro 3 for the first time in the period from October 10 to December 4.

* 78,828 users had an up-to-date anti-virus program installed. 28,607 users had not.

* 25,038 (32 percent) of the 78,828 users with up-to-date anti-virus program were infected with malware.

See files.surfright.nl/reports/HitmanPro3-RealWorldStatistics-OctNov2009.pdf for a detailed description of the results and the methodology.

These 107,435 users have scanned their computer using the Behavioral Scan in Hitman Pro 3. Hitman Pro 3 can scan a computer in only a few minutes from a USB Flash Drive, CD/DVD, local or network attached hard drive and will quickly reveal the presence of any malware using a Behavioral Scan. The actual verification of these potential malware files is then done on the Hitman Pro servers, the “Scan Cloud,” which incorporates a hosted multi-vendor scanning service. Hitman Pro 3 uses 7 different anti-virus programs to analyze the suspicious files.

Hitman Pro 3 can be used in addition to an existing anti-virus program. Scanning a PC is free so Hitman Pro 3 is an ideal solution to check if the current anti-virus program offers sufficient protection. A free version can be downloaded from www.hitmanpro.com .

SAN JOSE, Calif. /Publishers Newswire/ — Engate Technology Corporation, leaders in next generation reputation network profiling technology and proactive botnet, phish, virus and email security solutions, today announced integration of Engate’s security software suite with IBM(R) Lotus(R) Foundations Start line of software appliances for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB). Lotus Foundations Start “plug and play” appliances help companies with little or no in-house technical resources to focus on running their business rather than managing their computer systems.

This Linux-based IBM solution provides staple collaboration tools such as email, file sharing, and remote access and affords peace of mind through automated network security features, data protection, backup and recovery. With Engate, Lotus Foundations Start will offer an industry-leading security suite that proactively protects SMBs from a diversity of email-borne threats.

“Email remains one of the most widely-used attack vectors against small and medium size business users, making email security essential to IBM Lotus Foundations Start,” said Caleb Barlow, Integration Executive for Lotus Foundations, IBM Corporation (NYSE:IBM). “Together with Engate, IBM Lotus Foundations Start offers SMB customers an easy-to-use, best-in-class security solution that protects from the growing number of email-borne botnet, phish, spam and virus threats.”

“Engate provides organizations with proactive protection against the growing threat of phish, spam and botnet attacks,” said Wil Cochran, CEO, Engate. “Working together, we are combining our connection-level protection with Lotus Foundations Start to deliver a solution that helps SMBs mitigate resource-intensive email security administration by stopping malicious threats outside their network before they compromise their privacy, productivity and resources.”

“Botnet-based email attacks are the most prominent malicious security threat to my business customers today. My clients were dissatisfied with their conventional security products as they struggled to keep up with the high volume of sophisticated attacks that were secretly bypassing their filters, spreading new infections and stealing sensitive data,” said John Gray, Partner, Bentor Technologies. “I’m excited to be working with Engate and IBM Lotus Foundations Start as their integrated functionality offers my business customers the innovation, flexibility and reliability necessary in stopping these dangerous attacks at the edge of the network before they have a chance to damage resources and disrupt business productivity.”

Award-winning IP Reputation Solution Empowers SMBs to Focus on Growth: Botnets are one of the most dangerous online security threats today where an estimated 40 percent of the 800 million computers on the Internet unsuspectingly distribute spam, steal private data, launch dangerous attacks, and spread new infections. In particular, SMBs face unique security and IT resource challenges that leave them vulnerable to email-borne attacks and botnet threats that can disrupt business productivity.

As email-borne threats continue to double annually, Engate’s advanced botnet, phish, virus and email security protects companies with a powerful solution that proactively protects networks from illicit hosts that are distributing threats. Engate’s innovative security suite employs patented reputation network profiling, source verification, and anti-forgery techniques to identify and block email-borne botnet attacks at the connection level, before they have a chance to compromise IT resources, invade privacy, degrade network performance, and waste user productivity.

Next Generation Reputation Network Profiling Technology for OEM Partners: With more than seven years of operational experience collecting and analyzing data on global networks, Engate’s reputation network profiling technology empowers strategic OEM partners to take advantage of the reputation of over 400 million “good and bad” IP’s in Engate’s 17,000 rules database – known as GlobalRules(TM). By profiling entire networks beyond infected hosts, Engate has built a repository of intelligence on potential and unknown hosts that may become infected. This unique intelligence on unknown threats is a critical component to enhancing an OEM partner’s security portfolio today – as well as in the future – particularly as unknown threats continue to rise due to the growth of botnets.

Engate delivers incremental value to security software, appliance, secure Web gateway, unified threat management, intrusion prevention, firewall, and router partners in the following ways:

(1) Enhance 3rd party threat scoring systems with an extra layer of threat intelligence proven to achieve an additional 10-15 percent unique catches on top of existing content scanning, Real-time Blacklists (RBL) and reputation technologies.

(2) Improve connection-level security and the efficiency of 3rd party email security filters by radically reducing the large volume of unwanted traffic and malicious payloads from reaching the gateway.

(3) Augment multi-layer security strategy with proactive protection from known and unknown threats. Engate’s unique network profiling functionality gives OEM partners preemptive defense against botnet-based attacks, phish, spam, viruses and blended Web/email threats.

About Engate Technology:
Engate Technology Corporation is a leading provider of proactive botnet, phish, virus and email security solutions for enterprises, businesses and service providers. The company also provides reputation network profiling technology for OEM deployment models, including hardware appliance, hosted services and software, which can be licensed to security software, appliance, router, firewall, secure Web gateway, intrusion prevention, unified threat management and managed service providers.
